Montgomery County · Lake Conroe
Open the lake-facing wall.
Slim-frame Cortizo sliding and bifold glass doors for Lake Conroe homes, Texas-built and installed by one team from survey to handover.

Working at Lake Conroe
Three kinds of lake projects.
Homes here are built to face the water. The question is usually how much of that wall you want to open, and what the opening is up against.
Replacement
Replacing a dated patio slider
Most calls around Conroe start with a tired aluminum or vinyl slider that drags, leaks air or blocks half the view. We survey the header and threshold, then fit a slim-frame Cortizo system into the same opening, without structural work wherever the opening allows.
New build
New custom lake homes
Building in Bentwater, Walden or April Sound? Bring us in at framing. We supply opening sizes, head and sill details and finish samples for your builder, your architect and the HOA architectural review board.
Specifier resourcesEast shore
West-facing lots on the east shore
Many homes around Willis and the east shore face west across the water, straight into the afternoon sun. We size solar-control glass to each opening so the view stays and the heat does not.
Systems
Two Cortizo systems, both installed by us.
Choose a COR Vision slider to frame the lake with the slimmest possible frame, or a Bi-Fold system to clear the whole wall and join the room to the deck.
| Central sightline (sliding) | ¾″ |
|---|---|
| Maximum panel | Up to 8 ft wide × 10 ft tall |
| Maximum panel weight | 705 lb |
| Panels per run | 2 to 14 (Bi-Fold) |
| Thermal performance | U-0.23 |
| Acoustic performance | 41 dB |
| Glazing thickness | Up to 1¼″ |
On the water
Built for lake humidity.
Lakefront air is damp for much of the year. The frames are thermally broken aluminum with a polyamide barrier, finished in an architectural powder coat that will not swell, rot or peel.
Water is handled at the sill, where older doors fail. Weep-drained sills send it to the outside, and we install pan flashing and a self-adhering membrane under every sill before the frame goes in.
Energy code at the lake
Solar gain decides the glass.
Lake elevations catch the full Texas afternoon sun. In climate zone 2A the limit that matters is an SHGC of 0.25, so we specify a solar-control low-E coating and choose the build-up opening by opening.
| Climate zone | 2A |
|---|---|
| Max U-factor | 0.40 |
| Max SHGC | 0.25 |
| TDI windstorm certification | Not required in Montgomery County |
Codes change and requirements can be address-specific. We confirm yours at survey before anything is ordered.

Process
Survey to handover, one team.
No dealer and no subcontracted install.
01
Site survey
We measure the opening, check the header and threshold, and note orientation and exposure.
02
Drawings and glass
You sign off shop drawings, finish and a glass build-up chosen for each opening.
03
Build
Typically 8 to 12 weeks from order. Panels are glazed and assembled in Texas.
04
Install
Usually one to two days on site, by our own crew, then adjusted and handed over.
Questions
Glass doors at Lake Conroe, answered.
The things people ask before they book. Still unsure? Send the opening and we will give you a straight answer.
Do you replace existing patio sliders at Lake Conroe?
Yes, it is most of the work here. An older slider or patio door comes out and a slim-frame COR Vision slider or Bi-Fold system goes into the same structural opening wherever the structure allows. We survey before anything is ordered to confirm the header and threshold.
Can a wide glass wall open fully to the lake?
Yes. That is what the Bi-Fold system is for: up to 14 panels stack to one side and clear the opening without a fixed center post. Where you want to frame the view instead, a COR Vision slider gives the slimmest sightline, with a pocket option that takes the panels into the wall.
Can you work with my builder, architect and HOA?
Yes. On new homes we supply opening sizes, head and sill details and finish samples early, so the framer builds the right opening and your architectural review board has what it needs.
Will it meet energy code?
Yes. In climate zone 2A the deciding number is solar heat gain: vertical glazing is capped at an SHGC of 0.25, which calls for a solar-control low-E coating. We specify it as standard and choose the glass for each opening by orientation. The thermally broken frame is well inside the 0.40 U-factor limit.
How do these doors handle lake humidity?
The frames are thermally broken aluminum with a polyamide barrier and an architectural powder coat. Sills have built-in weep drainage that sends water to the outside, and we install pan flashing and a self-adhering membrane at every sill before the frame goes in. Aluminum will not swell or rot the way wood and vinyl can.
Do I need windstorm-certified or impact glass?
TDI windstorm certification is not required in Montgomery County. Wind and glazing requirements can depend on the address, so we confirm yours at survey before anything is ordered.
How long does a project take?
Typically 8 to 12 weeks from order, then one to two days on site. We give you a firm timeline after the survey.
